Our Story

Sojourn Church is a new church plant that was started by Pastor Scott Korljan who had a calling to plant a church in Scottsdale that was faithful to scripture, pointed people to Jesus, and that was intentionally outreaching to the community.

Their first meeting happened on April 11th, 2021, with 9 adults meeting in Pastor Scott's living room, shortly after he and his family moved cross country from Michigan to Scottsdale.

Throughout 2021, Sojourn Church met on Sunday evenings for a time of study, prayer, and sharing a meal together. In February 2022, we began to meet for worship on Sunday evenings, renting space from another church in the Scottsdale area. In February 2023 we moved to our current time and location at Great Hearts Archway Scottsdale.

In November 2024 Sojourn became a particular church in the PCA–a huge milestone for a church plant. In January 2025 the church began meeting in the chapel at Phoenix Seminary, taking the next steps in God's planned journey for these Sojourners.

Our name "Sojourn" reminds us that we are Sojourners in this world (1 Pet 2:11), living as citizens of another country, never forgetting that we are not yet fully home (Heb 13:14).
